Heel Pain & Plantar Fasciitis Treatment in Mission Viejo
We look for the cause of your heel pain and build a plan around it, with modern options such as shockwave therapy, regenerative injections and custom orthotics.
What Causes Heel Pain?
Heel pain is one of the most common reasons patients see a podiatrist, and plantar fasciitis is a frequent cause. The plantar fascia is a band of tissue along the bottom of the foot; when it becomes irritated, the heel can hurt with your first steps in the morning or after standing for a long time.
Footwear, activity level, foot structure and how you walk can all play a part. Rather than a quick injection and a follow-up, Dr. McGrath looks at the cause and builds a plan around it.

Heel Pain & Plantar Fasciitis FAQ
If heel pain keeps coming back, lasts more than a few weeks, or changes how you walk, a podiatrist can find the cause. Plantar fasciitis is a frequent cause, but not the only one, so a proper evaluation comes before any treatment plan.
It depends on the cause and how long you have had symptoms. At Alto, plans can combine footwear and activity changes, custom orthotics and regenerative options such as shockwave therapy, PRP or biologic injections. Dr. McGrath explains the options and their cost before you commit.
Yes. Shockwave therapy is one of the regenerative therapies Alto offers, and it is often part of treatment plans for plantar fasciitis and heel pain. Whether it fits your case is decided at your consultation.
Alto is a direct-pay practice and does not bill insurance. Prices are listed up front, HSA and FSA funds apply, and payment plans are available for larger packages.
Many patients start with a short call with our patient coordinator. At the consultation, Dr. McGrath reviews your history, how you stand and walk and your footwear, with X-ray and ultrasound as indicated, then builds a clear plan.
